The "Managed Data Lake Service: Technical Enablement and Hands-on Lab" training explores Fivetran's solution for modernizing data lakes, addressing the challenges of traditional data lakes and warehouses. Participants will learn how Fivetran automates the delivery of compliant, secure data lakes by converting data into open table formats like Iceberg and Delta Lake, streamlining operations, enhancing governance, and increasing usability. 

The service ensures data is query-ready, ACID-compliant, and supports both structured and unstructured data formats. The training covers how Fivetran automatically converts data to Parquet format, stores it in Delta Lake or Iceberg, and provides automated data management, including normalization, deduplication, and compaction—all with no manual maintenance. It also highlights the advantages of these open table formats over ordinary Parquet, including transactional support, schema evolution, and data versioning. Additionally, the module details Fivetran’s integration with cloud data catalogs like AWS Glue and Unity Catalog. 

The training includes a hands-on lab where participants will experience setting up and configuring Fivetran's Managed Data Lake Service in a demo environment.
